Yellowlined cardinalfish

Scientific name : Apogon chrysotaenia


With a maximum length of 12,0 cm, this fish shows stripes on its head, well marked in juveniles but less visible in adults. Adults also show a pointy secondary dorsal fin.
Nocturnal, it inhabits the inshore reef; also found on crevices of reef flats and coral slopes.


Habitat: Back reef, Lagoon, Mud, Sand

Distribution: Indo-Australian Archipelago
