White-edged lyretail

Scientific name : Variola albimarginata


About 65,0 cm long, this grouper shows a reddish background color, with yellow stripes and many blue dots on the whole body, which become bright and blue-bordered on the dorsal fin.
Rather uncommon, it can be mostly seen on seaward reefs. Juveniles can be found on soft corals reefs and algae beds, swimming above the substrate.
It swims in small groups, and feeds on fish.
