Western school prawn

Scientific name : Metapenaeus cf. dalli


Elongated prawn, uniform grey colour, large eyes, rostrum extended beyond eyes, long and flexible antennae. 10 cm.
Encountered on sandy and muddy bottoms, in bay, at night.
Distinguished from Metapenaeus sp. 2 by the uniform colour pattern.


Habitat: Sand

Distribution: Western Pacific
