Violet damsel

Scientific name : Neopomacentrus violascens


Elongated damsle fish, body dark blue with blue markings. Yellow deeply forked tail and posterior part of the dorsal fin. 6 cm. A Plankton feeder. The dark colour, the deeply forked tail and the elongated fins distinguish this species from other blue and yellow damsels, as Chrisiptera parasema or Pomacentrus auriventris.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Western Pacific
