Vermiculated angel fish

Scientific name : Chaetodontoplus mesoleucus


Chaetodontoplus species are medium sized, with small scales, high shape. C. mesoleucus has colour fading from white to grey, with thin lines. Yellow face and tail, blue lips, a black band covers the eye. 18 cm. Possible confusion with a butterfly fish like Chaetodon reticulatus. The opercular spine, typical of angel fishes, is a diagnostic.


Habitat: Back reef, Coastal bay

Distribution: Western Pacific
