Urchin bumblebee shrimp

Scientific name : Gnatophilloides mineri

Shrimp long about 1 cm, sigar shaped, white colour with 2 brown bands along sides. The back (not always) has longitudinal tine lines. Short legs, well developed white claws held linearly parallel to the urchin spines (on which it lives).
For the host type, it could be confused with Allopontonia iaini that has longer legs and slightly resembles a commensal squat lobster.

Associated organisms
Always associated with sea urchins, we photographed it on Tripneustes gratilla. In the Caribbean is normally associated with T. esculentus and Lytechinus variegatus.
