Twospot Anthias

Scientific name : Pseudanthias bimaculatus


Anthias with red-lavender or orange scrabbles around the body, and two yellow or orange bands extending from eye to pectoral fin. Tips of tail lobes bluish. Females with red-orange or magenta head, gradating to yellow on the back. Caudal fin yellow. Mainly along the external reef, in turbid coastal or clear outer reefs. Similar to other anthias species, distinguishable for the markings along the body and the yellow back.

Associated organisms
Possibly mixed with other anhias species.


Habitat: Open sea, Reef external slope

Distribution: Indian Ocean
