Two spot lion fish

Scientific name : Dendrochirus biocellatus


Small lion fish, with body and pectoral fins in large bandes pinkish and brown. Two prominent barbels on the snout and 2 ocelli in the soft dorsal fin are very distinctive. 10 cm.
Easy to identify, due to the fan shaped and striped pectoral fins, to the 2 ocelli and to the barbels. When swimming at night it keeps the pectoral fins opened horizontally, the barbels extended forward. The dorsal fin waves continuously, underlining the ocelli.


Habitat: Back reef, Lagoon

Distribution: Indo-Pacific
