Threadfin Anthias

Scientific name : Pseudanthias huchti


Anthias with a lavender-yellow body, with a remarkable red strip starting below the eye and continuing until the pectoral fin, borded with a red thread as weel. third ray of the dorsal fin longer; females are yellow or yellow-green, with an evident yellow caudal fin. Mainly along the external reef from 4 to 20 meters of depth, it makes small groups with females outnumbering males. It is a zooplankton-feeder, as other anthias species. Easily distinguishable for the red longitudinal stripe starting from the eye.

Associated organisms
Possibly mixed with other anhias species.


Habitat: Reef external slope
