Striped hinge-beak shrimp

Scientific name : Cinetorhynchus striatus


Very long rostrum, turned upward. 5 spines on the head, 2 toward the tip of the upper side of rostrum, about 12 un the rostrum underside. Transparent body with a red and white zebra pattern. Red legs with a longitudinal white line on upper side. 6,5 cm.
Similar to 2 species living in the east Pacific, Cinetorhynchus fasciatus and C. hiatti. In our area it can be confused with Cinetorhynchus cf. reticulatus in the striped abdomen form, it is identified by the red legs with longitudinal white line (C. reticulatus has white legs with transverse red bands).


Habitat: Reef external slope
