Striped cardinalfish

Scientific name : Apogon angustatus


A small (11.0 cm) white fish, with five horizontal brown stripes, with a dark spot close to its tail.
Usually found along the reef, on the crest and slopes, even on deep drop-offs to 25 mt, in clear waters.
Feeds on polychaetes and other small benthic invertebrates at night. It hides during the day in crevices and under ledges.


Habitat: Back reef, Lagoon, Sand, Seagrass beds

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific, Red sea
