Spot-nape butterfly fish

Scientific name : Chaetodon oxycephalus

Large (25 cm) butterfly fish, white with black vertical lines, eye band and spot on nape> Yellow fins, black and yellow back.
Common in back reef, reef front and along external reef. It feeds primarily on corals and anemones, but also on other invertebrates and algae. Usually in pairs.
Possible confusion with Chaetodon lineolatus, the main difference being the eye band shape: in C. lineolatus the band is expanded on nape, with a white spot in the middle. In C. oxycephalus the band is interrupted, and leaves a black spot on nape.
