Sponge shrimp

Scientific name : Periclimenaeus cf. gorgonidarum


Translucent white shrimp, with asymmetrical claws. Difficult to observe, it lives in pairs inside sponge cavities. 2 cm.
Different species can be found inside sponges, all very similar and not well known. For positive identification, microscopic details have to be examined.

It lives inside cavities in sponges, permanently hidden, Very difficult to observe.


Habitat: Deep reef, Reef external slope
