Split-banded cardinalfish

Scientific name : Apogon compressus


White-pinkish fish, with about six brown stripes on its sides, some dark spots near its caudal fin and iridescent blue eyes. Maximum length: 12.0 cm.
Forms small aggregates near mounds of branching corals. Nocturnal, it has also been reared in captivity.


Habitat: Reef flat, Reef front

Distribution: Western Pacific
