Spiny shrimp

Scientific name : Phyllognathia ceratophtalmus


Beautiful shrimp, very difficult to see due to its cryptic behaviour. Light brown with orange, black and blue scattered markings and spots. The spiny body is well camouflaged amongst corals. 2 cm.
Impossible to confound.

Associated organisms
Not associated with any particular species, but usually stays among or over hard corals or sponges.


Habitat: Reef external slope

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
