Shaggy octopus

Scientific name : Octopus sp. 2

Small brown octopus, with white and pink blotches mimicking crustose red algae. Ramified skin flaps. Body about 1 cm, tentacles about 3 cm.
Photographed in Bunaken and in Manado, North Sulawesi.
Photographed along the external reef, during daytime.
The small size makes the identification very difficult. It could even be a juvenile form. Both the skin flaps and the spots mimicking crustose algae have been visible during all the time we observed this animal (about 5 minutes).

Habitat: Reef external slope

Distribution: North Sulawesi
