Semi circled angel fish
Scientific name : Pomacanthus semicirculatus
Large (38 cm) angelfish, brown to olive green colour with a reticulated pattern in the central part. Blue lines along the gill operculum and the fins edge. Black juveniles with semicircle blue and white lines, open posteriorly (it is the juvenile colour pattern to give the name to the species). A possible confusion with Pomacanthus sexstriatus, the latter having clear bands along the sides and no blue edges. The juvenile resembles Pomacanthus imperator, but the circular lines are never close, like in the latter.
Associated organisms Commonly found in sponge rich environments.
Habitat:
Deep reef, Reef external slope
