Seagrass shrimp

Scientific name : Latreutes cf. mucronatus


Hippolitidae shrimp, elongated shape, light green colour with white eyes and scattered blue spots. 1.5 cm. Twenty species exist, very similar to each other. It is very difficult to identify Latreutes species without a microscopic examination.

Associated organisms
With seagrasses or seaweeds. In our photos is associated with the green algae Codium sp.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Lagoon

Distribution: Indo-Pacific
