Scalloped torpedo ray

Scientific name : Torpedo panthera


With a maximum length of 100 cm, the leopard torpedo is a cartilaginous fish with a quite narrow disc, brown- or light brown-colored, with many brighter spots all over the body. It has two dorsal fins, small and rounded, close to their pelivc fins.
It lives on muddy and sandy bottoms, to a a depth of 100 m. It's ovoviviparous.

Distribution: Red sea
