Saddled butterfly fish

Scientific name : Chaetodon ephippium


Large (23 cm) and colourful butterfly fish, with a big black saddle shaped spot and a filament pointing backward on dorsal fin.
Normally encountered on back reef and external reef, in coral rich areas. Feeds on corals, sponges, other invertebrates, algae, fish eggs. Usually in pairs.
Very typical colour pattern.
