Redmouth grouper

Scientific name : Aethaloperca rogaa


About 60,0 cm long, this grouper has a brown, dark, almostblack color, sometimes with an orange cast. Inside the grouper's mouth, the color ranges from pink to crimson. Juveniles have a white border on their caudal fin.
It can be found in coastal reefs, even close to caves and holes in the reef. It feeds mostly of small fish and crustaceans.
It can spawn at any time in the year. Juveniles mimic Centropyge vrolikii.

Distribution: Indo-Pacific, Red sea
