Red and black anemone fish
Scientific name : Amphiprion melanopus
Anteriorly red, black on the back and posterior part. A single white band behind the eye. Ventral and anal fins are white, red-orange the dorsal, pectoral and caudal fins. 12 cm. Easily distinguished from the other single banded and red finned species (A. frenatus, A. rubrocinctus) due to the ventral and anal fins colour.
Associated organisms Obligate association with sea anemones, usually Entacmaea quadricolor. Occasionally encountered on Heteractis crispa or Heteractis magnifica.
