Purple queen

Scientific name : Pseudanthias pascalus


Purple anthias with dark blue or orange little spots and a yellowish snout forming a fleshy protuberance. Females usually lighter, reddish, with a red or orangish stripe starting from the eye to the gill opening. Mainly along the external reef, from 5 to 60 meters depth. Feed on Plankton. Easily distinguishable from other anthias species for the color and the fleshy protuberance on the snout.


Habitat: Reef external slope

Distribution: Indonesia, North Sulawesi
