Prawn

Scientific name : Metapaeneopsis sp.


Elongated shape, short rostrum (it extends just to the eye level), transparent body with irregular brown and white stains. White lines on legs. Large blue-green eyes. 6 cm.
Encountered on sandy bottoms, in bay, at night.
Distinguished by Metapenaeopsis lamellata for the colour pattern and elongated shape. Compared with related genera (Penaeus, Metapenaeus) the short rostrum is typical of Metapenaeopsis.
