Pleurobranchus grandis

Scientific name : Pleurobranchus grandis


Large, rounded and flattened sidegill slug. Rolled rhynophores, oral veil. Variable colour pattern, usually with large brown, cream, yellow patches.
Back covered with papillae, arranged in small circles. 20 cm.
Can be confused with Pleurobranchus forskali, living in the same environment. Different texture of the back: P. grandis has papillae arranged in small circles or polygones, P. forskali has haphazardly aranged papillae.

Associated organisms
With sponges, ascidians or sea anemones, its food. Observed in association with the commensal shrimp Periclimenes imperator.


Habitat: Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
