Pleurobranchus forskali

Scientific name : Pleurobranchus forskali


Large, rounded and flattened sidegill slug. Rolled rhynophores, oral veil. Variable colour pattern, from cream to dark red, often with contrasting circles.
Back covered with papillae, arranged haphazardly. 15 cm.
Can be confused with Pleurobranchus grandis, living in the same environment. Different texture of the back: P. grandis has papillae arranged in small circles or polygones, P. forskali has haphazardly aranged papillae.

Associated organisms
With sponges, ascidians or sea anemones, its food.


Habitat: Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
