Piurella sp.
Scientific name : Piurella sp.
Piurella ascidians are found semi-buried in sandy bottoms, emerging only with the siphons. Often unobserved. Many species in the genus Piurella are probably similar, their systematics still unknown.
Putting an hand close to the bottom where a Piurella colony is, siphons can contract simultaneously, giving a sensation of moving sand.
