Pin urchin
Scientific name : Salmacis belli
Urchin with short, uniformly distributed spines; white test, thin, pointed and banded spines. Test diameter 7 cm.
Uncommon, it lives in bay and lagoon, on sand, rubble or seagrasses covered bottoms. It likes to cover itself with detritus.
Distinguishable from Pseudoboletia indiana and P. maculata by the thinner, banded spines.
