Phyllidia babai
Scientific name : Phyllidia babai
Hard back, covered with tubercles, no external gills. Background colour light blue, with yellow rhynophores and tubercles, and black rings around the tubercles. Fine white punctuation on all the body. 7 cm. Living along the external reef. It secretes a powerful toxin, to discourage predators.
Very similar to Phyllidia ocellata, especially in a light blue form (uncommon in our area). The white punctuation on the back is a diagnostic character.
Associated organisms Often with sponges, its food.
