Philippines chromis

Scientific name : Chromis scotochiloptera

Large grey chromis, with deep oval body, black lines along the upper and lower margins of caudal fin. Black band along the anterior margin of the anal fin. 14 cm. Encountered in shoals along the external reef, in sheltered areas. A Plankton feeder. Similar to the other grey chromis (see for example Chromis ternatensis). Distinguished by the larger size. Another good diagnostic is the colour pattern of the anal fin.
