Pearl scale angel fish

Scientific name : Centropyge vrolickii


Small angel fish, grey colour fading in black in the posterior part. Orange edge of eye, gill operculum and pectoral fin axilla. 9 cm. Feeding mostly on algae. The juvenile surgeon fish Acanthurus pyroferus mimics it. For identification, the surgeon fish has no opercular spine.


Habitat: Back reef, Reef external slope, Reef front
