Pajama cardinalfish

Scientific name : Sphaeramia nematoptera

A popular aquarium fish, about 8,5 cm long, has a very peculiar color: the head is yellow-green, its eyes with a red border, while the rest of its body is silvery with many black spots; the two zones are divided by a thich vertical, dark bar that goes from the first dorsal fin to the pectoral fins.
It forms aggregations among coral branches in lagoons and sheltered bays. The aggregation disperses at night to feed on the bottom.
