Oval spot butterfly fish

Scientific name : Chaetodon speculum


Medium size butterfly fish (18 cm), completely yellow apart from black eye band and side oval spot. Uncommon, living on reef front and external reef. Feeding on corals and other invertebrates. Solitary or in pairs. Possible confusion with Chaetodon bennetti, the latter has blue lines. The yeloow colour is the main difference with Chaetodon unimaculatus.
