Orbicular cardinalfish

Scientific name : Sphaeramia orbicularis


A fish of modest dimensions (maximum length: 10,0 cm), green-grayish, with a dark bar going from the first dorsal fin to the anus and many black spots on the entire body.
It can be found mostly in coastal waters, forming small aggregations among mangroves, rocks, debris or piers along sheltered and shallow shorelines. It feeds at night, mostly on planktonic crustaceans.

Distribution: Indian Ocean
