Smasher, the marbled back colour can change to match the habitat. The antennal scales are pink-purple in different tones. Orange eyes. The exteranl appendages of the tail fan (exopods) have a large dark blotch and pink-purple tip. 8 cm. It digs a U shaped burrow among sand and coral rubble. Very active and curious, often interacts with divers. For years considered synonim of O. brevirostris, the main difference is the colour of the exopod.


Habitat: Back reef, Coastal bay, Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
