Mimic cardinalfish

Scientific name : Cheilodipterus nigrotaeniatus


About 10,0 cm long, this fish shows four horizontal black stripes, the uppermost running from the snout to the caudal fin base.
Swims usually in open waters, but runs for cover on the reef when approached.

Associated organisms
Mimics the striped fangblenny Meiacanthus grammistes, also in the swimming style.

Distribution: Indo-Australian Archipelago
