Menella

Scientific name : Menella


Colonies sparingly branched, thick branches arising at right angle from the main branches and curving upward. Large polyps, entirely retractile in calyces. Colours: red, yellow, brown, purple. 40 cm. Somehow symilar to the genus Euplexaura and Echinogorgia, due to the general shape of the colony, that in both is usually more branching.

Associated organisms
With gobies, ovulids.


Habitat: Deep reef

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
