Membrane green ascidian
Scientific name : Lissoclinum patellum
Encrusting, membranous ascidian, slimy colonies with distinct ridges. Colonies with undefined shape, at a first glance easy to confound with a green algae or a sponge.
From this species a powerful anti-cancer drug, uliticyclamid, is extract.
Associated organisms Often filling the spaces between branches in hard tree-like corals like Acropora spp. and Porites spp.
