Long nose shrimp

Scientific name : Leander plumosus


Characteristic shape and colour. Very long rostrum, as well as the antennal scales. Light brown colour with white and dark brown lines and markings. High hump on abdomen, transparent legs and antennae. Thin claws, almost undistinguishable from normal legs. 2 cm.
Very easy to identify for shape and colour.

Associated organisms
Unknown. In our first photo is on the stinging hydroid Aglaophenia cupressina, but this is not a stable association.


Habitat: Back reef, Lagoon

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific
