Leopard grouper

Scientific name : Cephalopholis leopardus

A medium-sized grouper (maximum length: 24,0 cm), it has a rosy background color, with a brown patch on the caudal peduncle; its name is due to the many red patches on the body.
It can be seen on lagoon coral-rich areas, channels and outer reef slopes. Solitary, tends to hide in caves and crevices on the reef. It's among the smallest groupers.
