Lantern toby

Scientific name : Canthigaster epilampra


Brown back toby, with white belly, orange-yellow tail and area around eyes. Fading blue spots and lines on sides. Darker spot at the basis of the dorsal fin. 12 cm. Small invertebrate feeder. Compared with Canthigasetr compressa is lighter in colour and with fading spots, not present on the back. Compared with Canthigaster bennetti has no red spots.


Habitat: Deep reef

Distribution: Pacific Ocean
