Hydroid shrimp

Scientific name : Hippolyte sp.


White-cream colour, with brown spots and lines, mimicking the host colour (the hydroid Aglaophenia cupressina). Light blue eyes. Thin claws, almost undistinguishable from normal legs. Flattend and enlarged basal antennal scale. 2 cm.
It is likely an undescribed species.

Associated organisms
Always observed in association with the hydroid Aglaophenia cupressina.


Habitat: Back reef, Reef front

Distribution: North Sulawesi
