Honeycomb toby
Scientific name : Canthigaster janthinopera
Small toby, brown colour with blue round spots on the back, white on the sides. White tail. 9 cm. It is a cryptic species, often hiding in holes or caves. Feeds on algae, sponges, other invertebrates. Canthigaster amboinensis has black spots mixed with the blue spots. Canthigaster papua and C. solandri have smaller spots, and spotted colour pattern also on the tail. C. papua in particular has blue lines on the back.
