Honey head damsel

Scientific name : Dischistodus prosopotaenia


Large, robust damsel, white - yellowish, darker on the head, with 2 pale saddles along the sides. 20 cm. Found in lagoon or in the back reef. A territorial herbivorous, very aggressive even toward divers. Identified from the other Dischistodus species by the 2 saddles.


Habitat: Back reef, Lagoon

Distribution: Western Pacific
