Hermit crab anemone

Scientific name : Verrillactis paguri

Small anemone, with thin column that can be brown mottled. Tentacles, disposed in a crown, are transparent. Height 2 cm.
Distinguished from Calliactis miriam due to the transparent tentacles (instead of banded) and to the position of attachment on the shell, with the basal disc inside.

Associated organisms
Mutualistic symbiosis with hermit crabs of the genus Dardanus. The crab attach the anemone on its shell, and takes advantage of the stinging cells protection. The anemone benefit is probably the greater possibility to find food, being transported.
