Hemprich's sea anemone
Scientific name : Heterodactyla hemprichi
Large flat anemone, often with convolute edge. Short and very branching tentacles, each one with a dozen of side filaments. The cluster of purple vesicles found along the border are special tentacles rich in cnydocysts. Diameter 15 cm.
Symilar to other flat species, like Cryptodendrum adhaesivum, the branching tentacles and the purple vesicles are distinctive.
Associated organisms With zooxanthellae. Often surrounded by shrimps like Thor amboinensis.
