Haptosquilla pulchella

Scientific name : Haptosquilla pulchella


Small smasher, usually brown - reddish, white marbled, with fading dark bands. 2 cm.
Normally encountered on sand and coral rubble, never ventures away from its shelter. It lives in bay, lagoon, back reef. Many symilar small species of stomatopods live in these environments, distinguishable only if we observe carefully the colour pattern.


Habitat: Back reef, Coastal bay, Lagoon, Sand

Distribution: Indo-Pacific
