Halavi's guitarfish

Scientific name : Glaucostegus halavi


Flat and elongated, shovel-shaped head, with a long and narrow tail and two dorsal fins. Sand-like color. As all the Rhinobatidae, it reminds a guitar or a violin.
It lives on sandy bottoms, preying upon fish and mollusks. It can reach a maximum of 120 cm in length. They are ovoviviparous.


Habitat: Coastal bay, Sand

Distribution: Red sea, Western Indian Ocean
