Green chromis

Scientific name : Chromis viridis

Oval shape, blue green colour. 8 cm. It is a Plankton feeder living in large shoals. Chromis atripectoralis is almost undistinguishable, only slightly smaller and it lacks the black spot at the pectoral fin axil. It is extremely difficult to take the 2 species apart: the black spot can be very small, apart the colour of fins during mating, there can be apparently no difference.

Associated organisms
Often associated with branching Acropora colonies, if threatened they can hide amongst the branches.
