Glassy cardinalfish

Scientific name : Rhabdamia spilota


This fish (maximum length: 6,0 cm) has a very slender body, semi-transparent, whitish with 3-4 small black dots on the operculum and at the base of the pectoral fin.
It swims in pairs, and forms large aggregations on rocky outcrops with gorgonians and crinoids on steep slopes. It swims actively during the day above isolated corals to feed on zooplankton.
